About Pushinkas Ragdoll Cattery

My name is Charlotte and I am originally from Bristol in the South West of England, UK, but I am currently living in Bermuda with my husband, our two year old son, our three Ragdoll cats and our Shetland Sheepdog.

I loved to take our Ragdolls out to shows, and I am also currently enrolled on the GCCF Stewarding Scheme. Assisting the judges on show day as a steward is a brilliant experience, there is so much knowledge to be gained from those who are experts in the different breeds - and getting to handle all those beautiful cats is a bonus!

It has been a lifelong dream of mine to be a cat breeder and I still have a piece of schoolwork I wrote when I was ten years old saying "When I grow up I want to be a cat breeder"! I grew up with moggies but once I left home I very much missed having a feline companion, so our first Ragdoll, Theodore, joined the family in January 2014. He was followed by our show neuter boy, Franklin, in 2018 and our breeding queen, Eleanor, in 2019. All of our Ragdolls are beloved family pets who live in our home and share our lives with us, and our kittens are born and raised in our home.

I chose my prefix "Pushinkas" as it is Russian for fluffy, and Pushinka was also the name of JFK's pet dog (given to him by the Soviet leader), which was apt as we have a presidential theme with our cats all being named after members of the Roosevelt family.

My prefix "Pushinkas" is registered with the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) and all our cats and kittens are registered with the GCCF. I am passionate about the Ragdoll breed and am a member of the Committee of The British Ragdoll Cat Club. I am committed to preserving the traditional Ragdoll and breed for health, type and temperament.

I am also passionate about animal rescue and for many years I have volunteered with local cat charities both in the cattery (usually in the nursery looking after the mums and kittens) and also carrying out home checks to check the suitability of families who would like to adopt a cat. I currently help to run The British Ragdoll Cat Club Rescue and Rehome. I look after the administrative side of things dealing with emails, paperwork for all the cats and adoption applications, as well as our social media channels.
